With two Bank Holidays and several major sporting events taking place in the capital, May will be a busy month for public transport. We strongly advise everyone to check before they travel to ensure they have a smooth journey.

Bank Holiday weekend 3 May to 5 May

National Rail
Major works will be taking place at London Euston, with all lines to and from the station closed on 4 and 5 May. There will be no Southeatern services calling at London Victoria on 3 and 4 May and Southern will have a reduced service to and from London Victoria. Visit the website for full details

Transport for London
There will be reduced services on a range of lines including District and Circle lines, as well as a reduced service on the Elizabeth Line. Check the TfL status page before you travel.

VE Day 80 events
There will be road closures on Monday 5 May for the VE Day 80 events taking place.

Bank Holiday weekend 24 May to 26 May

National Rail

Bedford – London St Pancras International: Lines will be blocked between Bedford and Harpenden, which will significantly disrupt journeys on  24 and 25 May. Alternative ways of getting to and from central London will be available from Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham and Leicester. Visit the website for full details

Sporting events

There are major sporting events taking place at Wembley Stadium throughout May, including the FA Cup and Play-Off finals. This will cause delays in the area and transport will be busier than usual. View the full list of events.
