Advice when travelling in London

One of the best ways to travel around London is by public transport

One of the best and most efficient ways to travel around London is by public transport with options including services operated by Transport for London (TfL) which include London Overground, Underground (Tube), Elizabeth line, Docklands Light Railway, bus, tram and Cable Car, and National Rail services provided by various train companies.

Planning your journey

If you are travelling in and around London, the Transport for London (TfL) journey planner  allows you to plan your journey and compare different modes of transport. You can also download the TfL Go app to your smartphone to get live updates.

TfL also produces a step-free guide to show the accessibility of their stations and stops.

You can also plan journeys and check rail fares on the National Rail Enquiries website. You can also download the National Rail app to plan your journey and buy tickets.

National Rail also includes information about station accessibility and facilities.

There are other ticket retailers, or you can visit the individual train companies to check ticket prices and purchase your tickets.
