Freedom Pass and 60+ Oyster Card
Some London residents may be eligible for free travel around the capital on public transport
The Freedom Pass and 60+ London Oyster Card let you travel for free on Transport for London services on Monday to Friday after 9am, and at any time at weekends and bank holidays. Freedom Pass and 60+ London Oyster holders also get a discount on Thames River bus services and many River Tours.
Freedom Pass
The Freedom Pass is for London residents and paid for by your local council. The pass provides older people or those with certain disabilities with free travel on bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground, Elizabeth line and National Rail in London.
Find out if you are eligible for a Freedom Pass. Free Standard Class travel is available for all Freedom Pass holders on local rail services after 9.30am. On some routes different times apply. Important note: Make sure you keep your Freedom Pass separate from your contactless bank card to avoid the incorrect card being charged. If your contactless card has been charged for a journey incorrectly, contact Transport for London (TfL) immediately.
60+ London Oyster Card
Over 60s who live in a London borough can apply for the 60+ London Oyster photocard, giving them free travel on bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground, Elizabeth line and most National Rail services in London.
