We welcome today’s support from the Chancellor for extension of the Docklands Light Railway to Thamesmead, although the detailed funding arrangements still have to be finalised. London TravelWatch has long supported the project which will improve connectivity in this part of south-east London, unlocking new homes and jobs.
We await details on what Transport for London’s latest business plan will say about improving other public transport services in the capital – and on what will happen to TfL ticket prices in London following the Government’s positive decision to freeze national rail fares next year.
