The London Bus Alliance was set up in 2021 by London TravelWatch to help make the case for the importance of the bus to Londoners and reverse the decline in bus ridership.
Bus journey times had been hitting historic highs, which resulted in many people experiencing unreliable and slower services, making buses less inclusive and attractive to use.
Today (Tuesday 13 May), the London Bus Alliance has sent a letter to Lorna Murphy, Director of Buses at TfL, to call for urgent action to improve passenger satisfaction, reduce bus journey times and make London’s buses even better.
We want TfL to commit to the following actions
- Increase the amount of bus lanes
- Improve the effectiveness of existing bus lanes.
- Increase other bus priority measures
- Better co-ordination of roadworks
