Statement on latest GLA budget reductions

Commenting on the Mayor of London’s budget cuts caused by the Coronavirus crisis, London TravelWatch Director, Emma Gibson said: ‘Londoners were already facing the prospect of fares increases in the new year as a result of the significant drop in TfL’s revenue but today’s announcement means that fares may have to rise more, hitting those in low paid jobs who rely on public transport even harder. We are also worried that upgrade projects on the Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines are now in jeopardy along with Crossrail 2 which would provide much-needed relief for the transport network in London and the wider South East.’
