The ASLEF trade union has called strike action across much of the rail network in early December. This industrial action is likely to be very disruptive for passengers as train companies will not be able to run their normal timetabled services.
Strike action is expected to take place on Saturday 2, Sunday 3 Tuesday 5, Wednesday 6, Thursday 7 and Friday 8 December 2023.
There will also be an overtime ban from Friday 1 to Saturday 9 December 2023 which is also likely to impact services.
The train companies affected by the strikes are:
- Avanti West Coast
- Chiltern Railways
- East Midlands Railway
- Gatwick Express
- Greater Anglia
- Great Northern
- Great Western Railway
- London Northwestern Railway
- South Western Railway
- TransPennine Express
- West Midlands Railway
If you click on the train company above, you will be taken to their dedicated strike page. From here, you should be able to find a breakdown of services including the amended timetables and any rail replacement buses planned.
Details around refunds, ticket acceptance and other travel terms and conditions should also be provided by individual train companies.
We will update this page with more information as and when it becomes available.
