Responding to the news that social distancing on buses in London is likely to end on Monday, London TravelWatch Director Emma Gibson said: ‘We know from our research that being able to socially distance on public transport is the number one priority for Londoners at the moment, so it is concerning that this change is coming in with so little warning. There are two urgent questions that TfL needs to answer: When and how are you going to let Londoners know about this change? And how are bus passengers going to know how busy their bus is going to be before they set off? We know that bus companies in other parts of the country are making a great effort to give passengers live information on how busy individual buses are. TfL needs to raise its game or risk damaging the confidence of people returning to public transport for the first time.’
