Commenting on the new government transport guidance issued today, Emma Gibson, Director of London TravelWatch said: ‘Many passengers in London will be pleased that the Government is now advising them to wear face coverings on public transport. In our recent survey Londoners placed more importance on wearing face masks as they move around the capital than people in other regions of the UK once the current lockdown is lifted.

Transport providers now have a very important part to play in helping ensure passengers can follow this advice and explaining clearly what people need to do to help keep their fellow passengers safe.’
