Where to send your complaint

Find out where to send your initial complaint

If you have a complaint or problem with any aspect of London’s transport, you must first contact the operator that provides the service.

If you have already complained to the operator and are unhappy with their response, these are the next steps:

  • for most Transport for London (TfL) services, including buses, the Tube, DLR and trams but excluding the Elizabeth Line or London Overground, contact London TravelWatch
  • for Eurostar, contact London TravelWatch
  • for the Elizabeth line or London Overground, contact the Rail Ombudsman
  • for other National Rail services, contact the Rail Ombudsman
  • for buses outside London (non TfL buses) or coaches, contact Bus Users

You can only contact the Rail Ombudsman if you have had no response from the operator for 40 days or you have a deadlock letter. A deadlock letter will be issued to you by the transport provider if they are unable to provide the outcome you wanted.

If the Rail Ombudsman considers your issues to be outside of their scope, they may then transfer your complaint to us.
