London TravelWatch intervention means passengers will still be able to buy advance and super off peak tickets at Greater Anglia ticket offices

01 April 2019 Greater Anglia passengers wanting to purchase advance and super off peak tickets at the ticket office will still be able to do so after the operator reversed its decision following an intervention by London TravelWatch.

Janet Cooke, Chief Executive of London TravelWatch commented: 'We are delighted that Greater Anglia’s proposal not to sell advance and super off peak tickets at ticket offices has now been withdrawn after our intervention. These tickets are precisely the kind that passengers may need guidance on at a ticket office and the change would have disadvantaged passengers without access to the internet. We are pleased that the operator has moved so quickly to reverse its decision.'

The proposed change would have restricted sales of these tickets to just online or by phone or to people with a Disabled Railcard.
