Passenger watchdog welcomes improved bus performance figures on 14/10/2011
“TfL has reported some impressive bus service performance figures for Quarter 1 and over the last year, regularly out-performing the targets they have set themselves” said Sharon Grant, Chair of London TravelWatch. We know from our research (1) that bus performance remains the number one priority for London bus passengers. It is therefore important that TfL keeps this up both in terms of monitoring and responding to poor performance.
We would however like to see renewed attention to promoting bus priority lanes on both TfL and individual borough road networks - with general priority for bus services on busy bus roads and targeted schemes at known pinch points. This is essential as we want buses to be able to move around the capital reliably and efficiently.
