Tube ticket office changes from Sunday on 04/02/2011

London TravelWatch has warned passengers that tube ticket office opening hours will be changing from Sunday, 6 February.

Sharon Grant, Chair, London TravelWatch said: “We consulted with passengers on the proposals to close ticket offices, who were concerned at these changes, and we shared these concerns with London Underground. It is important that passengers – especially those with accessibility needs and visitors and tourists who are unfamiliar with the system – continue to get any help or assistance they may need when buying tickets.”

During a consultation period, London TravelWatch heard from passengers who were concerned that they may be unable to buy best value tickets from machines or would be unable to seek advice when unnecessary.

Sharon Grant continued: “We are pleased that London Underground has improved its ticket machines which will now sell a wider range of tickets and allow passengers to use railcard discounts, but we are still concerned that some relatively busy ticket offices are being closed.

We’d love to hear from any passengers about their experiences after these regrettable closures are in place.”
