Latest National Rail Performance Report published on 23/02/2011

London TravelWatch has published its latest National Rail Performance Report for rail services in London and the South East covering the end of 2010.

The report, published quarterly, looks at national rail performance in London and the South East and assesses the performance for passengers, focussing on punctuality and cancellations.

Overall, the performance of train services has declined year-on-year: the poor weather conditions and being unable to operate trains being a major factor according the train companies.

London Overground had the lowest percentage of cancellations during this period, which continues an upward trend which London TravelWatch is very pleased to see. Southeastern had the highest number of cancellations, mainly owing to the impact of the snow in December 2010.
