ORR's decision on timetable planning on 07/09/2010
London TravelWatch has commented on the Office of Rail Regulation's decision that Network Rail breached its licence following problems introducing a new train timetable planning system.
London TravelWatch said: "The problems that emerged from the botched introduction of the integrated train planning system (ITPS) affected many passengers directly.
"London TravelWatch received a number of complaints caused by the failure in the introduction of this computer. We heard from people who had planned journeys in advance only to turn up at railway stations to find trains weren't running, even though the customer information websites had said they were.
"It is clear that a more extensive testing period was needed before it was launched."
