Services and Franchise Aspirations published on 10/06/2010
London TravelWatch has updated its principles on trains services (including tube and Docklands Light Railway) and its aspirations for franchise replacement and renegotiation.
London TravelWatch's Aspirations for Rail Franchise Replacement and Renegotiation sets out its ideal aspirations that the Department for Transport and train operators move towards when franchises are renewed.
Our Requirements for Train Services updates the principles we think should be applied to ensure an adequate service for transport users in London.
These aspirations and principles have been updated to take account of the changes in London's transport system and to include recent consultations. Of course, London TravelWatch recognises that any investment would have to be value for money and based on an appraisal of the costs and benefits, and we identify what can be achieved by changing existing practice or modifying services without needing significant capital investment.
Aspirations for Rail Franchise Replacement and Renegotiation and our 2010 Requirements for Train Services - Principles can be downloaded from the website.
