Watchdog’s day at Croydon on 20/11/2009
London TravelWatch would like to thank all of those who came along to our transport 'surgery’ on 17 November in Croydon.
The day was a huge success. From the bus (kindly lent to us from Arriva’s bus garage in South Croydon), which was parked in North End all day Tuesday, we spoke to hundreds of people in Croydon about their experience of transport in and around the area. Many local operators attended so that they could hear these experiences first-hand.
We handed out a thousand surveys to members of the public and received lots and lots of useful comments and suggestions from the public in Croydon, which we will be sharing with all the local transport providers and the council. Overall the general attitude towards transport in Croydon was positive, which we found really encouraging.
We would like to thank Go Ahead, Metro Bus, First Tram Operations, Tramlink, Bus Users UK and TfL, all of who attended the surgery along with London TravelWatch, and worked really hard and helped make it such a success.
We would especially like to thank Arriva London who provided the bus for the surgery and went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the event’s success both in the run up to the event, and on the day.
If you visited us on the day, and still have a travel survey to complete, please fill in and send back by 30 December 2009, as the price draw for £50 Oyster will be taking place on 4 January 2010.
Please check our website for details on any future transport surgeries and register here for our newsletter to keep updated on London TravelWatch’s work.
