Oyster a 'new dawn’ for rail passengers on 23/11/2009
London TravelWatch, has warmly welcomed the announcement that rail passengers in London will be able to use Oyster Pay As You Go (PAYG) from January 2010.
Sharon Grant, Chair, London TravelWatch, said: “This is great news and a new dawn for passengers in London. We have been pressing for Oyster to be made available on rail for years, and we are absolutely delighted that the day has finally arrived. This is a big step towards the integrated transport network London needs and deserves.”
Sharon Grant continued: “Oyster PAYG is a great product, and a success story which has really benefitted Londoners. However, people will need to check to make sure they are getting the cheapest ticket possible and we hope that there will be enough opportunities for people to purchase and top up their Oyster PAYG: this has not always been the case in all parts of London.”
