Blackheath Services on 19/10/2009
Many of you have written to us about the withdrawal of direct services between Woolwich Arsenal and Lewisham via Blackheath the morning peak and in the opposite direction during the evening peak hours.
Direct services will cease in the following directions:
Morning peak hours: Woolwich Arsenal via Blackheath to Lewisham.
Evening peak hours: Lewisham via Blackheath to Woolwich Arsenal.
This service only affects the peak time services: during the rest of the day and in the opposite direction, services will continue to operate.
London TravelWatch was made aware of this issue in the summer, and has raised particular concerns about crowding in the morning peak with Southeastern.
London TravelWatch has suggested possible mitigation measures to Southeastern and and has discussed the communications strategy for the timetable changes in December. We will continue to monitor Southeastern’s communication of the changes and alternative means of travel for those passengers who will be affected.
For media enquiries, please contact Jo deBank in the London TravelWatch press office on 020 7726 9953 or 07734 055494.
