London TravelWatch currently has a vacancy for a Senior Policy Officer to join our Research and Development Team.

As the Senior Policy Officer, you will contribute to London TravelWatch's statutory duty to secure improvements in the qualiy of transport services for the benefit of passengers, particularly in respect of train and underground services. You will provide policy advice and information, and respond to consultations on matters of national and local transport policy and make key representations to external stakeholders.

You will be expected to have a detailed knowledge of current rail and rapid transit issues, and a good understanding of generic transport policies and operations. You will be aware of what passengers want, while understanding the key issues facing the transport providers.

You will be able to conduct impact analyses of service provision and proposals such as timetable changes, train planning, rail franchising, fares and ticketing, and be an experienced and highly effective communicator and manager who will provide professional support to members and staff to inform our policy-making. You will also be the lead officer on our Transport Services Committee.
