Comment on Tim O'Toole on 25/02/2009
London TravelWatch comment on Transport for London's (TfL) announcment that Tim O'Toole is stepping down as Managing Director of London Underground after six years.
London TravelWatch said: "Tim O'Toole will be missed by passengers and Londoners. He leaves the Underground in a much better state than six years ago. He has overseen the huge rise in passenger numbers, the PPP and subsequent collapse of Metronet, and a huge investment programme trying to redress the years and years of massive underinvestment.
"He has always been open with, and supportive of, London TravelWatch, and recognised that the passengers perspective was vital to overseeing the tube network. We wish him all the very best: he will be a hard act to follow."
