Better Rail Stations response

Better Rail Stations responseLondon TravelWatch has responded to the Better Rail Stations consultation, an independent review of rail stations across England and Wales, commissioned by the Department for Transport.

Our area includes 18% of all rail stations nationally, accounting for 57% of all exits and entries from stations and 60& of all interchanges.

London TravelWatch says: “Stations are absolutely vital to passengers’ experience of rail travel. Station standards and facilities have not been the focus of any investment, and a lack of co-ordination of effort means that station standards fall well below passenger expectation.

“We urge that the recommendations of this report are adopted and implemented as soon as possible, and that minimum standards are included in all future franchises.”
