First TfL report shows Dial-a-Ride lacking

First TfL report shows Dial-a-Ride lackingLondon TravelWatch has today published its first performance report for Transport for London’s (TfL) services. This aims to provide - in one place - easy to understand information about the performance of TfL from its users’ perspective. The first report covers the second quarter of 2009/2010 (July to September 2009).

Sharon Grant, Chair, London TravelWatch said: “I hope this will be a handy guide for everyone interested in improving the travel experience in London. We’ve looked at the performance across all modes of transport: the tube, bus, tram, DLR, roads, cycling, motorcycling, river, taxis and Dial-a-Ride and have rated them on a ??~traffic-light’ system, depending on performance and our specific concerns.”

London TravelWatch hopes that these reports will not only be useful records, but will help us to notice patterns of continual good or bad performance, so valuable lessons can be learnt to improve the travelling public’s experience.

Sharon Grant continued: “It will come as no surprise to anyone who uses the service that we continue to have our gravest concerns about Dial-a-Ride, which continues to fail to meet its targets in terms of number of passengers and customer satisfaction. There is no sign this is improving: in fact the trend to September was downwards.”
