Congestion, crowding and bendy buses examined
Capacity and crowding on trains, tubes and streets and the future of three bendy bus routes will be discussed at
London TravelWatch's next public meeting on Tuesday 23 September.
When London TravelWatch issued its manifesto for the mayoral term earlier this year, 'Room to Breathe' was one of its key issues, and this meeting will examine congestion on trains, tubes and in the public realm. We will be hearing about managing capacity and crowding on National Rail and the Underground, as well as hearing about a scheme to ease congestion and enhance Oxford Circus for pedestrians.
We will also be looking at proposals on whether bus routes 38 (between Victoria and Clapton Pond), 521 (between Waterloo and London Bridge) and the 507 (between Waterloo and Victoria) should continue to use articulated buses, or should be replaced by other buses.
The next London TravelWatch meeting, open to all members of the press and public, will be held at London TravelWatch's offices at 6 Middle St, London, EC1A 7JA, at 9.45. The discussion on the future of bendy buses will be held at 15.45.
