Lorna Reith appointed Deputy Chair

Lorna Reith appointed Deputy ChairLondon TravelWatch, the watchdog for transport users in London, has announced that Lorna Reith, who lives in Tottenham, has been appointed Deputy Chair of the organisation.

Lorna is a local councillor in Tottenham, and the deputy leader of Haringey council. As a Tottenham resident, she is a regular user of the Victoria Line, and familiar with local bus routes - especially the W4, 41, 123 and the 230. Until last year, Lorna was Chief Executive of the national charity Disability Alliance, where she commuted from Tottenham Hale to Liverpool St for 14 years - the experience at the Alliance has given her an understanding of the problems facing passengers with disabilities, and a strong commitment to tackle these.

Commenting on her appointment, Lorna Reith said: "As a Londoner, I know only too well how essential the transport system is for all those who live and work in the capital - now is a very exciting time to be involved in transport issues. We need safe, reliable and comfortable public transport, which is affordable to all Londoners. I want to play a part in this and was delighted to be appointed Deputy Chair of the London TravelWatch board."
