Olympic success great news for transport in London
The announcement that the London 2012 bid has been successful is fantastic news for transport users in London, says the London Transport Users' Committee (LTUC), the passenger watchdog for the capital.
Brian Cooke, Chair, LTUC, said: "I am absolutely delighted that the London 2012 bid has been successful. It is wonderful news for transport in the capital, and all the Londoners, visitors and tourists who use it."
The victorious bid means that the London transport network will see much-needed and very welcome improvements, particularly on trains and tube - not just for the benefit of East London but for the whole of the capital.
Brian Cooke continued: "We believe the benefit London's transport users will see is huge, not just for the most of the Olympics, but for a very long time afterwards. We are delighted by the news and believe all Londoners should be because it will undoubtedly give a massive further boost to London's transport network.
"I believe this successful bid will give the greatest improvement to London's Transport system for 60 years and on behalf of all of London's Transport users we are very pleased and excited."
